Boston Fetch Covid Procedures
What we're doing:
Making sure our staff have the PPE they need (masks, gloves, sanitizer)
Wellness checks with all staff each day before they start walks
Instituting a 'Dog Handoff Procedure' whenever possible (more on this below)
Using our own leashes
Not entering your homes unless absolutely necessary
Cleaning our office twice daily and instituting social distancing while in the office
Minimizing the number of different homes that a walker goes to
We will be openly communicative if any of our staff become ill
What we need from you:
If you plan to be at home at the time of walk we will be instituting a 'Dog Handoff Procedure' that goes like this (check out the fun video below):
Please let us know you will be home, either in appointment notes in Scout or by text
Your Walker will text you before they arrive (this will be from our Walker's number, not our main line)
When your Walker arrives, please harness and leash your dog, bring them outside and tie them up somewhere convenient (e.g. a railing or fence post)
Your Walker will then leash your dog up with their own leash, and off they go
The procedure will be the same in reverse when they return after the walk
Check out the very informative video!
If you will not be home for the walk, please put the leash, collar, harness and anything else the Walker might need right next to the door (or as close to it as possible)
Scout doesn't use QR codes, so we don't need to go inside to scan in
If you are feeling ill or have been exposed to someone with COVID, please tell us immediately
Let us know if your dog has been reactive to or fearful of people in masks
These policies and procedures may change as we move forward, and if they do we will let you know.
We know this is a lot of information and there are some big changes here. We understand if you are not ready to resume walks or if you have questions. We'll be attempting to reach out to everyone individually as you schedule services, but this may take some time. Either way we are always contactable by email or phone/text.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this and figure out the procedures that work best for everyone.
