Boston Fetch Policies

Cancellations, Changes and Late Requests

  • Cancellations can be made until 8:00 AM the day of the service through Scout at no charge. Any cancellations after that will incur the full charge of the service (please still cancel through Scout). We pay our staff for anything on their schedule after 8:00 AM.

  • You may also request any changes (e.g. length of walk, time of walk, etc.) up until 8:00 PM the day before the service.

  • You may request a service up until 8:00 PM the day before the service, but if possible please request as far in advance as possible. If we get a same day request we may not always be able to do the walk at the time or length that you request. If you request a same day service after 8:00 PM this will need to be done by text (617-823-5835), as you can’t make last minute requests in Scout. We may charge a Late Request Fee of $5, and there is no guarantee we can do the walk.

Weekend Requests

  • Our weekend slots fill up quickly. You can make requests or changes in Scout until Thursday at 8:00 PM. We will do our best to accommodate weekend walk requests, but as we have limited staff available, we cannot guarantee it, particularly for last minute requests. If you miss the Thursday 8:00 PM cutoff you can text us with your request, and we’ll try our best.

  • For weekend services, if we approve a walk in Scout and then you cancel after 8:00 AM on Friday morning, we will charge a cancellation fee for the cost of the service.

Private Walks in the Mornings, Evenings and Weekends

  • Because we don’t have enough dogs for a Group Walk in the later afternoon/evening, any walk scheduled in Scout for after 5:00 PM will be charged as an ‘Extended Hours’ Walk, which is the Private Walk rate. This is true for any weekend walks as well.

 Pet Sitting Cancellations

  • If we have confirmed a Pet Sitting request in Scout and then there is a cancellation, we will charge for one night of Sitting plus 25% for each additional scheduled night.

Important Dates - 2024

Days Boston Fetch is Closed (meaning no services):

  • New Year’s Day - Monday January 1st

  • Independence Day – Thursday July 4th

  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday November 28th

  • Day After Thanksgiving – Friday November 29th

  • Christmas Day - Wednesday December 25th

  • New Year’s Day (2025) - Wednesday January 1st

If you need any Pet Sitting services on those days get in touch as soon as possible and we’ll try our best. Also if we do have any services on those days, there will be an additional 35% Holiday Surcharge.

We are open every other day of the year as normal.

There is a 35% Holiday Surcharge for other holidays throughout the year, as we like to give our awesome staff a bonus when they work on holidays. Those days are:

  • MLK Day – Monday January 15th

  • Washington’s Birthday – Monday February 19th

  • Easter Sunday – Sunday March 31st

  • Patriot’s Day – Monday April 15th

  • Memorial Day – Monday May 27th

  • Juneteenth Independence Day – Wednesday June 19th

  • Labor Day – Monday September 2nd

  • Columbus Day – Monday October 14th

  • Veteran’s Day – Monday November 11th

Other Surcharges

Additional pets have a 35% surcharge per service.

‘Last Minute’ requests, either after 8:00 PM the day before a weekday service, or after Thursday at 8:00 PM for weekend services, incur a $5 surcharge.
